Family members, friends, and residents of the Wooster community are mourning the tragic loss of Jason Henry, 44, who died following a severe two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Medina County.

According to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 12:38 p.m. at the intersection of Jeffrey Road and Lafayette Road (U.S. Route 42) in Homer Township. Investigators report that Henry was driving a Lexus westbound on Jeffrey Road when he failed to yield at a two-way stop sign and entered the intersection, where his vehicle was struck by a semi-truck traveling northeast.

Authorities confirmed that Henry was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

Two children who were also in the vehicle suffered serious injuries in the crash and were airlifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment. Officials have not yet released updates on their current conditions.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 30-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No additional passengers were reported in the commercial vehicle.
